True Colors will Bleed by FlyingPhoenixFire True Colors will Bleed by FlyingPhoenixFire
50 Canvas Challenge #4 - WonderStrange Arts  (Canvas 6)

I watched the video for this one this morning, and when trying to come up with my own concept, I was drawn to my favorite (and inspriring) band, Poets of the Fall. I write to them VERY often and just love their music.

Put a playlist of 4 or 5 of the songs and dinked around with the lyrics to Carnival of Rust (Haven't heard it before? Give it a listen. Seriously. You'll thank me. ;) ), Thus where the Lyrics on the piece comes from. If you can't read it, here's what it says:

"It's all a game, avoiding failure when true colors will bleed" (First line, Second verse)

I realize in a generation, this will not be read as I believe cursive writing has been dropped as part of the curriculum. Tragedy. Is it a sign of the modern times where most things are print, or a conspiracy so that the future generations will not be able to read the U.S. Constitution....?

More puffy paint and spackling with the added bonus of my lonely mechanical robotic no-armed woman in the corner. I have my own interpretation of this, and I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

Enjoy!

The only thing which would be more appropriate is the hint of the mechanical person being made with some sort of synthetic straw, like having wires sticking out as if it is packed with them the same way a scarecrow is.  Then you could have the Stawman argument implied too, even with a technology-based society.  Even without it, though, I like this one.  Good work, Jei Jei.  :)

AH! I see where you're going there! Nice little one! Sometimes I wonder what would happen if you were in my studio with me when I create such things... ;)

You'd never get anything practical done, I suspect.  But it would be fun!

Perhaps nothing practical, but definitely creative, and it would be fun!

...when can you come up again? ;)

Ohhh I love it!  I love the drips on "bleed" so much!  Your sweet lonely mechanical robot is sweet.  <3

Thank you so much! <3 I actually drew the drips with the puffy paint off of "Bleed" but the others were created with India Ink (one of my favorite tools)!

Truth be told, I finished the "background" I was struggling with what to put on it and I came across a print-out from an Art Trader Magazine of a Peg-Legged art doll that you drew and gave me the base for her concept. I drew my own out, but just decided to not deal with the arms in the long run, but she was originally going to have posable arms. So, Thanks for the inspiration! :D
